The Translation Engine

The Translation Engine maps every new concept you learn to expertise you already have. Instead of generic explanations, everything is taught through analogies and frameworks pulled from your actual professional background.

  1. During onboarding, you tell Steady your professional background — your industry, your role, and the specific work you've actually done.
  2. When a new concept comes up in your syllabus, the Translation Engine identifies the closest equivalent in your existing expertise.
  3. The lesson is generated using that equivalent as the anchor — a marketing manager learning product strategy sees it explained through campaign architecture, not abstract theory.
  4. As you progress and your expertise in the new domain grows, later lessons translate through your newer knowledge too, not just your original background.

The Living Syllabus

Your syllabus isn't a fixed course outline. It's a living document that updates automatically as your target field changes — so you're always learning what the market actually needs, not what was true when you signed up.

  1. Steady generates your initial syllabus based on your background and stated goal.
  2. In the background, Steady continuously researches your target domain — new tools, shifting demands, emerging skills.
  3. When something material changes in your field, your syllabus updates to reflect it — new lessons get added, outdated ones get deprioritized.
  4. You always see your current path on your dashboard, not a static plan you agreed to on day one.

The Four Arcs

Every Steady user moves through four progressive stages — Bootcamp, Junior, Middle, and Senior — each building a different kind of competence, from first recognizing a domain to making real decisions within it.

  1. Bootcamp (Recognition): you learn the vocabulary, patterns, and landscape of your new domain for the first time.
  2. Junior (Execution): you start doing real work — tasks that reflect what the domain actually demands, not simulations of simulations.
  3. Middle (Diagnosis): you're given broken or ambiguous situations and asked to figure out what's actually wrong before fixing it.
  4. Senior (Decision): you make judgment calls under uncertainty — the arc where you become someone who can direct work, not just complete it.
  5. You move to the next arc only when your performance shows you're ready — nobody skips stages, and nobody repeats what they've already proven.

Gap Killer

Gap Killer finds the specific things you don't yet understand — even ones you haven't noticed yourself — and brings them back into future lessons until they're actually closed, instead of letting them quietly become blind spots.

  1. As you complete lessons and missions, Steady tracks where your answers show partial or shaky understanding, not just right or wrong.
  2. Detected gaps get logged and scored, rather than dismissed after a single quiz question.
  3. Future lessons are woven with targeted material addressing those specific gaps — you don't need to seek out remedial content yourself.
  4. Closing a gap is gamified — it's tracked as visible progress, not treated as a quiet correction.

Session Tools

Every session is hands-on, and you choose how you want to engage with it — quiz yourself, explore a mindmap, listen along, or dive straight into a challenge. All the tools wrap around the same underlying lesson.

  1. Open any lesson in your Learning Studio and you'll see the same core content available in multiple formats.
  2. Switch to Flashcards to drill key facts, Quiz to test recall, or Mindmap to see how concepts connect to each other.
  3. Prefer listening? Podcast-style audio walks through the same material hands-free.
  4. Every format pulls from the same session — so switching tools mid-lesson never means losing your place or starting over.

Steady tracks your progress through Trust Coins and badges — not as decoration, but as a real economy that reflects consistent effort and reduces the cost of shortcuts the more you actually engage.

  1. You earn Trust Coins by completing lessons, closing knowledge gaps, and maintaining your learning streak.
  2. Badges mark specific milestones — six distinct types, each tied to a different kind of achievement.
